Above: Curve of the earth; oil, wax, conte and acrylic on panel, 40 x 60″
Look, look at what this paint can do, look at what it can shape itself into. Look at the beauty my brush finds when I consider all that my senses collect.
Coulees; oil, warm conte and acrylic on panel, 36 x 48″
Chinook and the Festival of Lights; oil, wax, conte and acrylic on panel, 40 x 40″
I commit spaces to memory. What shapes do I see? How does the air feel on my skin, can I touch the water, can I make a map of our wandering? Are there sounds? Making these paintings is like writing it down, filtered through the time between being out there in the world I inhabit and being in here in my quiet studio, where my hands make sense of things.
