summer fruit

F. Vettergreen, Anjou; 2011, oil and wax on canvas, 6 x 6 inches

Well, a summer full of surprises.  Not least of which is to find myself at the end of it, with forty pounds of peaches for jam and canning waiting in the basement.  Guess what I’m doing this weekend?  Cramming one more thing into an already packed schedule, but orchards don’t wait, and it will be worth it in February.

After the spring’s epic battle with acrylic paint (more on that later:  for now, suffice to say it’s all about the deadline), too much day job and too little studio, I’m happily painting portraits of pears.  Ahhhh, oil paint.  I’m home.
