Park series

I took a few years away from painting to draw, and when I picked up my brushes again I was spending many happy hours exploring neighborhood parks with my son, who was just learning to walk.  To a toddler, the local soccer field is a vast, unexplored wilderness, and the trees ringing the edges are giants.  To his mother, focused on keeping up with him, it’s all glimpses out of the corner of her eye, shapes caught in an instant, and committed over repeated visits to memory.  These images are those memories, reclaimed in the quiet of the studio.
